Jobs   Middle School Ministry Intern Hours: Part-time 20-25 hours per week, some evenings, some weekends Reports to: Director of Ministries Supervises: Volunteers Compensation: $14,400K annual salary; Free housing; Full benefits; 12 Vacation/Sick days per year Summary: The Middle School Ministry Intern is responsible for all aspects of running StreetWorkz, Bayshore Christian Ministries’ middle school youth ministry. This position is designed for anyone seeking experience in urban youth ministry. BCM will provide ongoing training and support for all interns. Position Overview: Oversee and manage StreetWorkz Program: • Coordinate weekly StreetWorkz large group meeting including teaching, games and fellowship • Coordinate junior student leadership team • Train, support and manage program volunteers • Manage program registration, database, wait list and fees • Coordinate outings, parent trainings, and other special events Develop relationships with teens and families: • Hang out with two kids per week • Communicate with youth via phone, notes (birthday cards, invitations, thank-you’s) etc. • Make school visits; attend sporting events, graduations and other school events. • Visit homes to build relationships with families Work in partnership with other BCM staff and community: • Provide regular reports to fellow staff and supervisor on program, participants and special events • Coordinate events and use of BCM resources with other program directors • Be actively involved in networking with other relevant organizations in the community Required: • Experience working with middle school youth in a church or Christian ministry setting • Desire to see youth come to Christ • Deep commitment to the mission of the organization and agreement with the Statement of Faith • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point and email • Valid driver’s license Preferred Qualifications: • College degree • Bilingual (Spanish) • Experience working with urban/at-risk youth • In order to reflect the community we serve, Latino and African-American candidates are encouraged to apply There will be a 30 day probationary period and a 90-day review.
